Accommodation

There are three accommodation options we have secured. The organisers of TEFI strongly encourage delegates to stay in the on campus townhouse residences as these provide delegates with opportunities for networking and dialogue outside of the formal conference events. Residence bookings can be made through the conference registration site.

1. East Village Townhouse Residence (University of Guelph)

Opened during the Fall of 2001, the Village is Guelph’s newest residence community, consisting of 164 four, five and six bedroom self-contained townhouses. The Village townhouses provide a private living environment with all the conveniences of living on-campus.

This accommodation lends itself to informal group activities and gathering after the day’s proceedings so that delegates can relax, discuss the day’s events and and share their future plans. The layout of our townhouse units is three floors including 1st floor: kitchen and living room and second and third floors each have two bedrooms and one bathroom on each floor free internet, free parking, air-conditioning.

All Townhouses are four bedroom units with locks on each bedroom door. Each bedroom has one twin bed.

The cost of the townhouse room is $118 CAN/night per room (1-2 persons staying in townhouse) or $105 CAN/night per room (3-4 persons staying in townhouse).

2. Traditional Student Rooms (University of Guelph)

Traditional dormitory rooms with two twin beds per room are available to students with valid Student ID cards. A Student ID card is required at check-in. The daily rate is $48.20 CAN/night per person.

Situated in the University of Guelph Research Park, across the street from the University of Guelph, Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre offers a convenient central Guelph location. Easy access to Guelph’s major employers, The Cooperators, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), Linamar and Sleeman Breweries. A short walk or drive to the 140 store Stone Road Mall or Canada’s largest outdoor sculpture park, The Macdonald Stewart Art Centre. Enjoy the modern comforts of our large banquet and conference facilities, dine at locals favourite Fifty West Restaurant and Bar.
